We're on a Mission.
Hawaiʻi Food Help is dedicated to alleviating food insecurity by providing access to federal subsidies and resources. We believe that everyone deserves reliable access to nutritious food, and we work tirelessly to connect families and individuals with the support they need.
Our Vision:
We envision a Hawaiʻi where no one goes hungry, where communities come together to support one another, and where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
What We Do:
- Multilingual Resource Guide: Our primary initiative is the creation and distribution of a user-friendly, multilingual federal resource guide. This guide provides information on various food assistance programs, eligibility requirements, and application processes in multiple languages to reach a broader audience.
-
Resource Connection: We help individuals and families navigate the complex world of federal food assistance programs, including SNAP and WIC. Our team provides guidance on eligibility, application processes, and ongoing support.
-
Community Education: We offer workshops and informational sessions to educate the community about food resources, nutrition, and budgeting. By empowering individuals with knowledge, we promote long-term food security.
-
Partnerships: We collaborate with local farms, food banks, and community organizations to enhance food access and support local economies. Together, we create a network of resources that addresses the unique needs of our islands.
- Advocacy: We advocate for policies that promote food security and equitable access to resources. By raising awareness and working with policymakers, we strive to create systemic change for our communities.
